An Australian pedophile, Bernard Kevin McGrath, hiding in Sri Lanka, had fled the country undetected.
Chulananda Perera, Controller General at the Department of Immigration and Emigration said that the Australian had left on board a Singapore Airlines flight.

| Canada Renews CHOGM Threat |

In a renewed threat, Canada says Prime Minister Stephen Harper will not attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Sri Lanka next year unless there is an improvement in the human rights situation in Sri Lanka.

Manpower agencies have exploited over two million employees paying them minimal daily wage and Labour Ministry is to check them through its proposed new legislation soon.

Sri Lanka tops in the South Asian region on women being sexual harassed in public transport, the Legal Aid Commission Chairman said yesterday.
LAC Chairman S.S. Wijeratne made this revelation while addressing the White Ribbon campaign that was held at Bastian Mawatha aiming to stop sexual harassment in public transport.

The Supreme Court yesterday fixed the hearing of the reference from the Court of Appeal for December 13 and 14, to notify the respondents of the dates fixed for the hearing.
The reference is on the interpretation of Article 107/3 of the Constitution. The respondents are the members of the Parliamentary Select Committee and the Speaker.

A group of 50 Sri Lankan men were sent from Darwin to Colombo on Friday, boosting the number "involuntarily" returned home to 13, when the government restored offshore processing.
