A section of the legal community has alleged that the Law College had not addressed core issues pertaining to the law entrance examinations held last year.
They pointed out that the faculty had omitted translation errors that cost several students their place at Law College.
“The Faculty should have given the marks lost due to translation errors to the students instead of bringing down the cut-off marks”, said Priyadharshana Gamage, member of the Bar Association of Kandy and a lecturer.
He said that those

These observations are particularly relevant in the cont

The Commonwealth Secretary General arrives in Colombo today with the sword of Damocles, so to say, hanging over the head of Sri Lanka; both in terms of hosting the Commonwealth Summit (CHOGM) later this year and even more importantly, our very existence as a member of the 54-member grouping of former British colonies.
The fact that the Minister of External Affairs had to rush to London to meet the Secretary General just a few days before the SG emplaned for Colombo speaks volumes for the gravity of the matter which Sri Lanka f

UNP Kegalle District parliamentarian and economist Kabir Hashim says the anti-Muslim campaign carried out in the country is politically motivated to divert people’s attention from the Government’s failures. He observed that the current anti-Muslim campaign would be detrimental in the sense that the international community has already made many allegations against the Government on its inaction to protect the democratic rights of citizens. Criticizing the Muslim political leaders in the Government, Hashim says, “Muslim M
