TNA says there are more graves

2014 Feb 17

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) says there are more mass graves in the North and East which have yet to be uncovered.

TNA leader R. Sampanthan was quoted in the Jaffna based Uthayan newspaper as saying that he has the evidence regarding the location of the graves and will reveal it at the right time and the right place.

His comments come even as excavation continues on a mass grave in Mannar where the police claim bodies of people killed by the LTTE had most likely been buried.

Sampanthan claimed that Tamils in the North and East were targeted and killed after 1983 and those killed have now been found buried in mass graves.

He said that several mass graves are known to exist at various locations in the North and East similar to that found in Mannar.

Over 50 skeletal remains and human bones had been found in the Mannar grave which was discovered last December. (Colombo Gazette)
