UN used to control Sri Lanka

President Mahinda Rajapaksa says attempts are being made to control Sri Lanka using the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

Speaking at an event in Matugama today, the President said that Sri Lanka is a free country after being under British rule.

However he said outsiders are now looking to control Sri Lanka under the guise of human rights.

The President said that questions are being asked about the last three days of the war and if the same questions are asked about the last two days of the second world war, who will be charged?

He said that with the end of the war bombs have not exploded in Sri Lanka but yet thee are bombs targeting Sri Lanka at Geneva every six month.

The President said that no country was able to rebuild within a short period of time like Sri Lanka did following the end of the war.

He said that at no cost will the Government betray the country to anyone or any organisation.
