The Inventors' Commission has taken an initiative to support the inventors who incurred losses due to the fire that erupted at the CHOGM media centre, destroying all items on display.

Commissioner/Chairman of Sri Lanka Inventors' Commission, Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, told Ceylon Today that he is holding discussions with Minister of Technology, Research and Atomic Energy, Patali Champika Ranawaka, in this regard.

"The discussions are underway and very soon we will come to a conclusion. However, the idea we have in mind is to have the inventors present their creations verbally or by a formatted document. Thereafter, we will decide on how best to proceed," he said.

The commissioner further said that they will appeal to the corporate world for support, to commercialize their inventions, which was the primary objective of the exhibition Sahasak Nimevum 2013, organized by the Sri Lanka Inventors' Commission.

The creations for the exhibition by 208 inventors from all over the country were completely destroyed in the fire, which started on Saturday morning (30). However, there were no casualties reported.
