BBC on a mud slinging game against SL army - Divaina

 Security officials have commenced a special investigation regrading a statement broadcast in the BBC news service about a Tamil woman walking on a road in the North, showing some pills and saying "If the army comes to rape me, I will drink these pills", reports Divaina newspaper.

Expressing his views regarding the matter yesterday (24), Army media spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya said that this this was a planned act by the BBC to sling mud at the military. "No complaints over Army related rape incidents have been lodged with the police",he said.

He further pointed out that the BBC representative has gone to Jaffna and has made this report to disgrace the country, on the verge of the Commonwealth summit being hosted in Sri Lanka,

BBC representative Fergal Keane, who has come from Landon to Sri Lanka, has stated that the Army is abusing the people in the North and the Govt officials are threatening them as well.
