Navanethem Pillay to meet President

Visiting UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navanethem Pillay is scheduled to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa today.
A U.N. official stated that the visiting UN High Commissioner for human Rights, will subsequently hold discussions with Minister of External Affairs professor G.L Peiris
Pillay is also due to meet with Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunga and minister Mahinda Samarasinghe later today.
On Wednesday, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights toured the Trincomalee District.
Upon arriving in Trincomalee, Pillay called on the Governor of the Eastern Province, Rear Admiral Mohan Wijeywickrema, at the Governor‘s Office.
The Governor had brought the UN Human Rights Chief up to speed on development and the resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons, in the Eastern Province.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights who arrived in Sri Lanka on Sunday, is in the country on a seven-day official visit.
