Visitors to the country on tourist visas who engage in business activities in contravention of Immigration and Emigration laws will be rounded up and deported after being blacklisted, Controller of Immigration ad Emigration Chulananda Perera said .

He said special units have been set up at Police Stations to arrest such wrong doers.

Police spokesman SP Buddhika Siriwardena said information has been received about a large number of people coming on tourist visas, hiding specially in the North and East and engaging in the textile trade and agricultural activities such as harvesting and labour.

Most of them are from neighbouring Asian countries, including India. Such people flouting immigration laws would be rounded up and admitted to the Mirihana Detention Camp on Court orders prior to their deportation.
