The South-Eastern University in Oluvil has evicted 375 second-year students from the university premises indefinitely, for agitating for hostel facilities within the university premises.

The second-year students have been agitating and demanding for better hostel facilities within the university premises from the university management.

As hostel facilities are generally not provided for second-year students, according to the regulations of the university, the university administration had arranged hostel facilities for the second-year students at the Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society building at Ninthavur.

However, according to the Registrar of the University, H. Abdul Sarthar, the second-year students were not satisfied with the hostel facilities provided for them in Ninthavur and protested that they should be given facilities within the South-Eastern university premises.

As the students continued with their demand for hostel facilities within the university premises, the university administration has decided to evict the second-year students from the university until a solution is reached. Following the orders by the South Eastern University administration, 375 students were seen outside the university premises with their belongings waiting to return to their home towns until they receive a positive response from the university, for their demand.
