A three-wheeler driver who had allegedly obstructed the vehicle of Mt. Lavinia Additional Magistrate, Praharsha Ranasinghe, and hurled abuses at her was ordered to appear before the Mt. Lavinia Court on 1 August 2013.

The suspect was identified as Buhary Mohamed Faris. When the Magistrate had been driving along Watarapola Road, Mt. Lavinia, having left the Mt. Lavinia Court, the suspect had obstructed her vehicle, and when she had eventually managed to get past the three-wheeler, he had abused her in obscene language.

After the Magistrate had lodged a complaint with the Dehiwala Police, the suspect had been apprehended, and taken into custody. After being produced in Court, he had been taken to the Magistrate's Chambers, and was released on personal bail yesterday (4).
